The houses in the hilly areas are generally made up of Wood. Wood is a an excellent thermal resistant and protects the persons living in it from the cold winds. The wood also helps to maintain the desired humidity levels in the house. The houses have slanted roofs so that the rain as well as the snow flows downwards and doesn't stay on roof.

Igloos are snow huts made in extremely cold weather conditions where you find snow almost all the year round. It is generally associated with the Eskimo people in Siberia.
