Renewable sources of energy are those sources of energy which are not limited and can be used again and again. Examples include solar energy, geothermal energy etc. Present day technology should be used in such a way that they can develop use of renewable sources of energy by substituting with non-renewable sources of energy which are limited in nature.

Wastes which consist of materials that are non-biodegradable so their destruction takes a very long time are known as inorganic wastes. Inorganic waste comes from non-renewable natural resources such as minerals and petroleum, or from industrial processes. They are only slightly affected by the action of organisms. They include waste materials such as sand, salt, Iron, Calcium, Mercury, Arsenic, Cadmium, etc.

Making new containers from crushed glass is an example of reusing and recycling goods. This helps in conserving resources, reducing waste disposal and prevent pollution.

Also known as clean tech, green tech and environmental tech, eco-friendly technology can help preserve the environment through energy efficiency and reduction of harmful waste.

For example bamboo is one of the best eco-friendly building materials on the planet. Bamboo has a high strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional durability — even greater compressive strength than brick or concrete. 

Eco-label is issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is represented by a pitcher or an earthen pot indicating that the product is not harmful to the environment.

Labeling of environmentally beneficial goods and resources extracted by more sustainable methods can help consumers decide which goods and services to buy product. Eco-labelling can encourage companies to develop green products and services and help consumers select more environmentally beneficial products and services.

'Eco mark' is an eco-labelling scheme of Government of India that supports environmentally friendly production practices. There is a strong emphasis on cleaner manufacturing processes in the criteria used for the granting eco-labels to products. Presently the scheme is limited to household and some consumer products to meet certain environmental criteria along with quality requirements of Indian standards. 

The products for which notifications have been issued for the criteria are toilet soaps, detergents, paper, architectural products and laundry soaps.
