Our solar system consists of a star - the Sun and 8 planets namely Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. There is an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter which separates the planets in two regions. The planets towards the Sun i.e. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars are inner planets and the other four planets are outer planets.
