Gymnosperms are plants with produce seeds but lacks flower. These are non flowering plants. They produce naked seeds.

Generally, the female plant produces two ovules both of which develop into seeds. The fertilization of seeds occurs via motile sperms. The fertilization occurs generally before or after the seeds are shed in autumn.
