Road ways are mostly developed in Rajasthan because roads are reachable in every part of the state like rural and tribal areas too. Longest highway of the state is NH-8 which connects Rajasthan to Delhi and Mumbai.

Maharana pratap airport is located in Udaipur. The airport is named after Maharana Pratap who was a Maharana of the state of Mewar in Rajasthan. It is situated 22 km east of Udaipur.

Rajasthan is included under North-western Railway zone which is one among the 17 railway zones of India. Its headquarter is at Jaipur. It comprises of four divisions:  Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur and Ajmer divisions. This zone came into existence on 1 October 2002.

Bharatmala pariyojana is a project introduced by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. It has taken up detailed review of National Highways (NHs) network with a view to improve road connectivity to all possible places.

The first train in Rajasthan ran in the year 1874. It travelled from Bandikui to Agra Fort. From then onwards there was continuous development in Railways. Total length of railways in the state of Rajasthan is about 6000 Kms.

For the development of roads, Indian government has announced Bharatmala Pariyojana. In this programme thousands of kilometers of roads have been proposed in Rajasthan. Due to strategic importance about 1500 kilometers of road passes through Rajasthan.
